Trichloroethylene, a halocarbon is a colorless liquid. It is a widely used industrial chlorinated solvent and an intermediate to prepare different chemicals. It is also used in vapor degreasing (metal), fire retardants, correction fluids (typewriter), paint removers/strippers, adhesives, spot removers, cleaning liquids (rug), refrigerants, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic rubber.
