SUMMARY
Isohexane is a branched-chain alkane that is a colorless liquid with a mild, sweet odor. Isohexane is used as a solvent for paint thinners, cleaners, adhesives, ink, and other coatings, as a blowing agent in the production of polyurethane foam, as a fuel component in gasoline blends and as a reference standard in gas chromatography analysis. Isohexane is also used for the extraction of oils and fats.
