Ethyl acetate is a colorless liquid. Ethyl Acetate is a widely used solvent for paints, varnishes, lacquers, cleaning mixtures, and perfumes. Ethyl Acetate is also used as an extraction solvent for the decaffeination of tea and coffee beans, a process solvent in pharmaceuticals, carrier solvent in adhesives, printing inks, and nail polish. It is a commonly used solvent for column and thin-layer chromatography in labs.
