SUMMARY

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is a polymeric organosilicon compound that is a colorless liquid. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is used as a precursor for defoamers/ water-phobic coatings, as a foam suppressant in lubricating oils, as a plasticizer in silicone sealants, as a lubricant in condoms, and as a component in silicon grease/ heat-transfer fluids/ mold-release agents.
