SUMMARY
Triethanolamine is a colorless liquid. Triethanolamine is used as a neutralizing agent in water-based coatings, as a chain lengthener in polyol-based polyurethane foams/elastomers, as a neutralizing agent in water-based inks, as a pH buffer and anti-corrosion additive in metal working fluids, as a fabric softener in textile formulations. Triethanolamine is also utilized as a solvent for dyes, shellac, natural rubber, and casein.
