The Whitaker Company is looking for an Outside Territory Sales representative for the Atlanta/Chattanooga territory in the chemical distribution market. This position involves building customer partnerships and growing existing Whitaker business by understanding customer needs and the strengths and capabilities of The Whitaker Company. This position will develop and manage a sales territory and create a business plan based on our company’s strategic goals as well as uncover and close new business opportunities.
This position requires someone who is self-motivated, passionate, and driven who enjoys fast paced work with the ability to quickly respond to customers.
Achieve profitable revenue growth, including new business, while maintaining existing sales.
Achieve gross margin targets by employing a consultative sales approach that focuses on building a long-term, value-based relationship with accounts.
Develop, execute, and manage a sales plan to develop new business, and manage current customer relationships.
Prospect for new business and identify new Whitaker opportunities.
Conduct sales calls and actively grow the size of your territory.
Work closely with Purchasing, and operations to ensure proper inventory levels to meet customer expectations.
Maintain weekly CRM standards to establish, track and close new business opportunities for long term growth.
The ideal candidate will live within the territory that covers Atlanta to Chattanooga.
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of sales experience preferably in chemical distribution sales (business to business preferred).
Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written and listening) and in-depth understanding of sales process.
Ability to work independently and achieve high volume of daily activities.
Ability to provide prompt feedback to customer inquiries.
Ability to overcome objections and adapt easily in changing market conditions.
Effective time management skills.
Solid business sense with a basic understanding of the relationship between producers, distributors and end-user customers and the limitations that exist therein.

This job is 80% driving.
Salary – Based on experience. Base salary with monthly, performance-based incentive compensation
